The title of this post goes against everything we’ve ever said about goals, and even though I was very sceptical as to whether I’d learn anything substantial from this TED Talk, I sure did learn something I’ll take with me from this point onward…
“Behaviours are things that you alone can do, it doesn’t require anyone else – you alone can do behaviours, and behaviours are the things that you focus on in order to achieve your goals.” – Reggie Rivers
When one focuses too much one one’s goal, one forgets to take action towards achieving the goals and that’s when a goal becomes nothing more than wish that won’t come true…
Rivers used such a cheeky life story to explain this concept of goals that he brought up. Have a watch!
What can You do today that is going to help You get closer to that goal?
What can You do tomorrow that is going to help You get closer to that goal?
And what can You do this week that is going to help You get closer to that goal?
Today, tomorrow and this week.
Set Your goals, leave them as it is, then focus on Your behaviours and not Your goals.
